Dia De los muertos

11/24/2017

Over Halloween we co-produced an authentic Mexican Day of the Dead themed production for Boneca.

We created various moodboards for inspiration, 3D design renders and conceptual illustrations before embarking on a 7 day scenic build. Our fantastic team created multiple building frontages inspired by the 'Yellow City' in Oaxaca, Mexico.  We also had one of our prop buyers in Mexico City select many hand made items for props, including 300 hand cut Dia Los Muertos flags. The install took 2 days turning the beautiful Art Deco Bloomsbury Ballroom into a Oaxaca inspired street design, alongside Santa Muerte Altars, DJ Booths, and Bar Designs.

TG Productions provided staging, lighting (also back lighting building frontage windows), complete blacked out of the venue in drapes, crew and other pre-production support. The final effect looked amazing and wowed the 2k attendees over two nights! Have a small peak at some photos from the event.

Check out the crazy timelapse of the build below, filmed by Sununu Hernandez.

Mad Max Returns

3/22/2017

Last weekend we worked with MJMK to produce a 'Mad Max' themed set for their latest event featuring DJ set from Adriatique.

We created multiple set and decor builds turning the beautiful art deco venue of Bloomsbury Ballroom into a
post apocalyptic vision inspired by the cult Mad Max films. From bar designs, junkyard DJ booths, dystopian seating areas, ejector seat / parachute photo booth area, walkabout characters, various set dressing and props, and even dressing up the bar staff as 'War Boys!'

TG Productions designed staging, subtle minimal lighting, and completely blacked out the venue in drapes. The overall effect looked fantastic and the 1k attendees had a great night! Have a small peak at some photos from the event.

We've been a little slow at updating our blog due to being super busy, however we've finally added some of our recent events to the portfolio page - check it out!

After a year away in the wilderness of strange event production, we have brought back our blog from the neverworld and created a brand new website! We are still tinkering away to get our portfolio up to speed and announce who's on our books for 2016, so watch this space.
Many exciting plans afoot for the year ahead...

Midsummer Night's Scream at Kensington Palace Gardens

Earlier in July we provided a huge array of performance characters, interative theatre, classical musicians, goblins, fire machines and art installations as part of a fanastical masquerade ball at Kensington Palace, organised by Midsummer Night's Dream!

Here is a photographic slideshow of the highlights from the event's performative/art elements (Photos courtesy of Merial Edwards Photography), including the Flower Ceremony (in association with Crystal Head Vodka), Fire Gateway Installation, Sunken Garden Performance Finale and other performances!

This is NOT your usual Cornershop! The fluffy shopping experience

7/16/2014

Picture
An art show truly worth making a fuzz about, Lucy Sparrow’s Cornershop is the fluffiest, furriest shopping experience imaginable. She’s filled a former derelict store in Bethnal Green with over 4,000 handmade felt versions of familiar grocery items – from fish fingers and cans of SPAM to sanitary towels and newspapers, rocket ice lollies and oven chips to ciggies, veggies, and what is most certainly the softest loo roll ever manufactured.

Every single thing inside the Cornershop – the till, the functioning pricing gun, the contents of freezers, the pick ‘n’ mix stand – is fashioned from fabric, and the whole lot took Lucy seven months to complete.

All her highly huggable versions of everyday essentials are for sale, but will stay in the store for a month, during which time a variety of sewing workshops will take place, designed to engage the local community (particularly individuals with autism and sectors often socially excluded) in relatable, accessible art that’s relevant to them and their neighbourhood and has been brought right to their doorstep. People can sign up to these workshops in the shop and group workshops for charities can be arranged through Lucy.

This exhibition has been supported by the Arts Council, Tower Hamlets Council and Kickstarter. The event is sponsored by Swizzel’s sweets.

Working at the intersection between contemporary craft, her previous works have included ‘Mini Structures’ – a series of supersoft London landmarks created for Time Out magazine – activist creations for Greenpeace, and exhibitions alongside notable street artists such as Banksy. Her creations often discuss issues spanning the politics of consumerism, sidelined social groups and mental wellbeing.

She’s a total softie.

OPENING NIGHT: 6pm-9pm, Friday 1st August 2014

Sponsored by Swizzels, opening night will feature free sweeties,
